Pennsylvania Welfare Agency Hit by Breach
Two computers were stolen from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare which contained personal information, names, and Social Security Numbers for approximately 375,000 people. Despite claims that the data contained "coded information", the department is taking steps to notify all 375,000 people of potential compromises to their confidential data.
Over the past few month, there have been numerous breaches in government offices on the state and federal levels as well as in various companies.
