Ex-IT Employee Sues Providence Health for Wrongful Termination
Almost two years after one of the largest data breaches in the history of Oregon, Providence Health is again in the news due to a wrongful termination lawsuit by former employee Steven Shields, who was fired after unencrypted disks and backup tapes were stolen from his car and he notified police. Steven Shields was one of four IT employees who were fired by Providence Health in the fallout
The data breach has already cost Providence Health millions of dollars for credit monitoring, insurance, and notification expenses.
